Brisbane in Flood

Brisbane and the South East corner of Queensland has been flooded, much to the surprise of all in the area. Not to forget that Central and the far North have also been underwater.

I myself have lived in or around the Brisbane & Greater Brisbane area since I was born in 1971.

Everyone I know thought that the dams would stop flood waters from flooding the city and suburbs like it did in the 1974 Floods. But the wet weather we have experienced for the last months has slowly filled every dam and made the ground wet. Very wet, every creek has been flowing every back yard has been like a swamp.

The time for a flood was set and the dams did what they could to reduce the flood levels. Yes can you imagine if the Dams were not there much more water would have covered much more of the suburbs of Brisbane.

I urge everyone to do what every they can to help those that have lost so much. I and my family will be giving money, clothing and time to the rebuilting of the Great city of Brisbane.

If you live outside the Flooded areas think of what you can do to help. Every bit will help. If you can buy from a Brisbane or Queensland business please do as business has come to a halt and everyone in Queensland will feel the effects for a long time.

I will be using any profits from my small business to help my fellow business men and women to rebuild.

Think for a moment that you had a business in Brisbane or even outside the Flooded areas if sales stop it will make it impossible to pay the bills.

The Government grants and even insurance will not make up for the losses. Many business will either close or will suffer for many years to get back to where they were.

I will be spending every dollar in the great state of Queensland NO SHOPPING FROM OVERSEAS OR INTERSTATE for me.

Please join me by giving what you can and shopping online from Queensland stores.
